Automatic Cleanup of Temp Files and Orphaned Folders
Tagami includes an automatic cleanup system that ensures your server doesn’t accumulate unused media or outdated folder structures. This helps keep storage lean, performance stable, and maintenance minimal — even in high-volume venues.
What Gets Cleaned
- 🧥 Temporary photos — if a coat photo is saved but the order isn't completed, the system tags the file with a
temp_prefix and removes it after 1 minute of inactivity. - 🏷️ Photos attached to hangers that were never submitted or confirmed in an order.
- 🏠 Orphaned folders — if a venue or coat room is deleted from the admin panel but the uploads directory remains on disk, the system automatically deletes it.
When It Runs
The cleaner runs:
- 🔁 Every 10 minutes in the background (via scheduler)
- 🧼 Once manually on every tag input (when a new hanger form is loaded)
This ensures that cleanup happens even if the main system is idle for a while or restarted.
Smart Logic
Tagami doesn’t just blindly delete files. The cleaner:
- Validates modification time of each file before deletion
- Checks for database references to venue and room folders
- Maintains a rotating log file of up to 1,000 lines for audit
If a tag was scanned or photo was taken but the guest walked away — the system quietly removes that photo in the background.
Log Tracking
All actions by the cleaner (including scans and deletions) are recorded in logs/cleaner.log with timestamps. You can review which files or folders were removed and when.
This log rotates automatically and is truncated to the last 1,000 entries to avoid bloat.
